Training and Mentoring Committee (TMC)

ACTOR’s Training and Mentoring Committee coordinates the training opportunities for new students and mentors students on research methods, collaboration ethics, and research dissemination methods. TMC coordinates student workshops, tracks student research output, and connects students with partners and other institutions for potential internships or job/career opportunities. The committee evaluates student applications to present at yearly workshops (X students/year) and applications for exchange visits to other partner institutions. TMC provides mentoring for emerging scholars, students, and post-docs moving toward tenure-track academic positions. (read more)

ACTOR Mentoring Program

In the Fall 2021, the ACTOR project implemented a yearly mentoring program including one-on-one meetings between mentor and mentee pairs as well as group sessions at the end of each semester.

The main goal of the program is to provide emerging scholars, post-docs moving toward tenure-track academic positions, and students with guidance and resources so they can develop as a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and networked cohort of scholars and practitioners capable of advancing the next wave of orchestration research, teaching, creative output, and private-sector activity.

Each pair involved has one 30-minute online session per month scheduled by the mentor/mentee according to the academic calendar, that is from September-December and from February-May.
